We decided this was the year to take the kids on our own family vacation. We had been to Hawaii as a big family and Paige was still little so this was the perfect year for everyone's ages. San Diego seemed like a great choice to get some sun and ocean therapy and get out of town for a bit.
Plane rides always make the vacation more exiting and real.
We arrived in the early evening to a beautiful sunset and got our rental car.
This is the sign they have in the hotel lounge area where they have happy hour food and drinks included with your stay every night and all sorts of games and fun things for the kids.
We did a lot of pool time.
We ate here twice. :)
Beach day 1
We found a yummy ice cream place after visiting a store Haylee was so excited about called Brandy Melville. It was a little chilly on the beach with our summer stuff on so we all bought sweatshirts. It was funny to see the local people wearing parka's and snow boots and we were all in shorts and tank tops.😝
This one was in a lovely teenager mood.
Her curls come out in full force in the ocean air I love it!!
This was how our evenings were spent after long days in the sun.
We sit while kids play ping pong.
Day 2 we headed to a Padres baseball game.
The view from the cheap seats.
Day 3 The Zoo!!
There was a huge line to see the Red Panda so Justin put Gavin on his shoulders to see in without having to wait. 😂
Back for sunshine and R&R
She got a little color that day. oops
Justin and I celebrated date night together while the kids stayed back and watched a movie. We cruised around the Gas Lamp district and people watched. We had some amazing pasta for dinner and had such a nice time.
Day 4 we headed south to the outlet mall and I didn't take any pictures but this one. lol We had fun though and everyone found some fun stuff.
Day 5 Imperial Beach
Pizza lunch was yummy!!
Day 6 Coronado Island
We had an amazing seafood lunch and headed to the beach. This was probably my favorite beach of the trip. White sand, beautiful plants and flowers and a gorgeous hotel. This was probably the best day for our beach weather too.
Day 7 La Jolla cove
We loved watching all the seals and sea lions, they are pretty entertaining.
These put my succulents to shame!! lol
Ever since Hawaii acai bowls have been something Haylee is obsessed with and besides Costco it's hard to find them all the time. These were pretty amazing!!
So was this take out that we ordered the last night we were there. Kids got chick fillet and we got sushi rolls.
Our last day we did Old town San Diego and wandered before we headed to the airport.
Justin found me this sign on our last day and it was perfect for me!! This was such a special trip for our family and one that will be remembered forever I hope. Until next time California!!💓
Sun burned and worn out means it must have been pretty great!!
