We have finally done something "seasonal" and made our way out to the Harvest Festival in Lynden. That is a town about 10 miles north of us and it's a little Dutch community that always is fun to visit and has fun things going on all the time. We made our way out to the pancake breakfast at the community center and besides the senior population (it felt a little like Sizzler) the breakfast was wonderful and it was $4 a person for all you can eat.....that is our kind of family meal. ;) After full bellies we made our way to the down town area where they had some fun kids activities set up.

They got their choice of a bounce house, a pony ride, or the train ride.
Anyway, so on with the day. We then went out to Stoney Ridge Farms which was a very fun place to take the kids, all sort of things to do, see, eat, ride, pet, and pick. ;) We kept the picking strictly to mean pumpkins but whatever. First was all of the animals, then some yummy warm apple cider doughnuts by the fire, and then a wagon ride out to the pumpkins. They had a big corn maze that the girls managed to get through so fast it was almost scary (people were really lost) and here we were having Grace lead the way, it was about 10 minutes start to finish. We picked a few gourds and had some laughs about what some of them looked like, (ok so that was just Justin and me but it was still funny). ;) Then picked some apples and a couple of very nice pumpkins and were done by 2 with the whole day still ahead of us.

Not afraid of a challenge that's for sure.
Who needs boots in Washington.....that's like having an umbrella....I'm afraid of the day that boots are the "norm" when we leave the house.
The girls...and maybe a boy tucked inside there too. ;)

To top off the day we stopped on our way home and bought some fresh salmon for dinner.....yum!
