Christmas break seemed like a long time coming after Paige was born. The girls didn't want to leave her at all and Gavin was missing his attention that he had before she came. We decided to have a little mini vacation when school got out to have some fun with the kids. Justin took a few days off which was a treat and we had a lot of fun. We took the kids to play mini golf and it was great because we had the place all to ourselves so we could play as long as we wanted. This was the first time the kids had played and they are hooked! This little guy got 2 hole in one shots, totally legit I might add we take our competition very serious around these parts. ;)
It's funny how everyone has their roles. Haylee doesn't like to look bad so she worries what everyone thinks and gets really upset at herself when she's not perfect. We try and make her feel at ease but sadly she comes by it honestly.
Next up was ice skating. Justin braved the ice with Gavin and managed to come away unscathed. Gavin hated the first go round but gradually got better and better and by the time we left he was lovin' it!
Grace does great and was very sweet to help Haylee, I was in feeding Paige and look out to see them holding hands around the ice just chatting away and laughing. Proud Mom moment for sure. :)
We went to see an IMAX movie (another first for the kids) then headed to a favorite spot of ours:
The carousel. It's only something we've done when we have been vacationing up here so to have this now be our home was a little strange to think about. We have talked about living here for a long time but never really thought it would happen.
Christmas eve was interesting to say the least. We had church and were in a mad rush to get back and have dinner, do jammies and get kids to bed so Santa could come before the midnight feeding of Paige. ;) Crazy how I am reminded that newborn feedings dictate everything we do and when. Then at bedtime we had a total melt down from our 4 year old that ended with him crying in his bed and us saying Christmas was cancelled! I was actually tempted to take his Christmas back I was so fed up with this child. He has given us a run for our money this past year and luckily we are seeing light at the end of a very loooong and draining tunnel.
We even waited until the next morning to get the kids' picture in their new pj's. I'm sure everyone went to bed hoping santa would bring them a new family. But.....we ended up having a great day thank goodness.
Haylee's only request for almost a year has been footie pajamas, and I went the more grown up route with Grace this year and just did a new robe.
The girls finally got their new bed spreads for their rooms that they have been wanting.

It was a very relaxing first Christmas in our new home and with our sweet new addition we were feeling very blessed.
For New Years all of Justin's family made the trip up to the lake to meet the baby and have our family Christmas together. We had tons of snow and the kids would be out sledding all day!! It was so fun to see everyone and even the cousins from Spokane came out for a day of play.

Such fun pictures!! The only kind of jammies Ailey wanted this Christmas were the footy ones too. Must be a 3rd grade thing!! Glad the jello-snow licking was a hit. I love it myself. Yum.
