The kids once again didn't disappoint with the reading logs for Silverwood so we were off on another family adventure. Once a year is all they get and they plan and talk and look forward to it all year. This summer Haylee and Gavin had a couple of lemonade stands and raised money for the trip so they could actually purchase something in the gift shops. (Poor kids always here "no") Best part is neither of them could find anything good enough in their price range that they actually wanted to spend it on so they each got something small and went home with money to spare. :)
Paige had fun too and was a trooper in the heat.
She and I chilled poolside while all the rest of them headed over to slide and wave pool it up. I am perfectly happy in a lawn chair not doing much of anything but soaking up sun. Paige doesn't love the water when it's cold so she was the perfect partner for me.
The train is another favorite and a perfect way to enjoy a snack and a rest.
The carousal was a hit for Paige this year, she wanted to go again and again. We always end with that and all the kids were happy with the day we had. Smiling and tired we headed home with our bags of cotton candy and kettle corn.
Until next summer when we do it all again.........................
Next up is camping at Lake Roosevelt. We had no idea this place was so pretty, we had so much fun. The weather was a bit on the windy/chilly side for the water but perfect for everything else. Kids don't care though and they played hard and were dirty the minute we got out of the car.
Camp
Exploring
Camping food is the best because you realize how much effort cooking and cleaning a meal takes. Food has to stay put away for the most part so no animals will come strolling into camp. At meal time everyone is famished and can sit around with no distractions and talk while we stuff our faces.
Beautiful sunset.
Probably one of the best places I have ever camped.
The next day we had sunshine off and on and the kids had a ball.
Sandy bums.
Drinking shandy in the sunshine is my heaven!!!
Collecting treasures.
And finding frogs.
Playing games back at camp while we were taking a break from the water.
There was even a park to play at just right up the trail. What more could we ask for????
If you haven't tried this place out yet Lake Roosevelt is a must for camping. We are already planning the next trip! :)
