This Christmas felt like it was all for the 1st time again since Paige was born so close to it last year. It's hard to get out and do much in the winter cold with a newborn so last year was pretty low key. This year I was eager to experience what the holiday season is like in Spokane. The kids helped me get the decorations up and we decided against cutting down the tree ourselves since that weekend we were planning it the temperatures dropped into the single digits. No thanks!

The kids school did a little evening sock hop and picture with santa. It was fun to have Gavin now be a part of it.

Then came their church Christmas play where both Haylee and Gavin had roles and did an amazing job. It was a super cute play and after missing last years performance due to a certain someone being born I was excited to see them in action.
Gavin's class did the song Puttin' On the Ritz and I'm sad we did not get it recorded because it was SO cute!! The whole theme of the play was America's Got Christmas. Our pastors daughter was in charge of it this year for the first time and she did such a good job with all of those kids.
Haylee's part was a girl named Diamond and she was a shopper talking about all the fun things she bought. She was shy but did very well.
We played the rest of the day at home getting out all the rest of our Christmas decorations.
Paige was loving all the Christmas books she was so cute!
That evening we had a surprise scheduled for the kids in Coeur d'Alene, we bundled up and headed to Santa's workshop. :)

The dark makes pictures a little tough but here we are on the cruise heading out to see all the beautiful lights on the way to Santa.
The kids had fun though it was not quite what Justin and I had expected. Now we know and will probably not do it again but fun to do something different for us and to have something to look forward to.
Christmas Eve was pretty typical we did our traditional dinner of Justin's carbonara and headed to the candlelight service at church. We got back and let the kids open jammies, I think everyone was having more fun with helping and watching Paige this year than actually opening their own gifts. ;)
Christmas morning the same thing, kids did stocking quickly then it was all about Paige. She was so excited for everything and so much fun to watch. She really is such a happy, sweet girl that makes us all smile all the time.
Everyone got what they were wanting pretty much with a few surprises snuck in. Haylee got her ipod nano and Grace got a gift certificate to her favorite store. We had a fun day.
Justin and I had been talking for about a month prior to Christmas about making a trip to Boise to see everyone over the holiday. We couldn't decide whether to pack up Christmas and leave early or wait until that was over and go afterwards. His parents had headed to Idaho Falls for Christmas so we decided after would be best. We told the kids that morning that we were leaving to Boise after we opened everything and after they realized it wasn't going to change Christmas morning they were on board and very excited. They all did amazing on the road trip and to add to that the weather was beautiful and sunny blue skies the whole way!
Grandpa and Grandma treated the kids to some fun at Po Jo's family fun center. Arcade games and bumper cars with the family are just what we needed!
Justin and I snuck in a few dates and had a game night at my Mom's house. The kids had a great time and we made it back in time to sneak in some fun around home before we had to go back to school. The kids do so well when they have a break it makes me sad when it ends because so does the peace. ;)
