What a FUN weekend we had!!!! As always it takes forever to get here and then goes by way too fast....but was well worth the wait for sure! :) Jen turned 30 woohoo!!!! We figured that was a perfect reason to start out a new tradition of girls weekend once a year.
We made the (long) drives in to town Friday night and met at Bridgeport shopping center....could have been way better had my drive gone smoothly and we would have been able to actually shop, but they were closed. :( We tried a movie but nothing was showing so we went 'sleepover style' back to Whitney's and rented one while eating lots of good junk food.
The next morning Paul made us delicious french toast with fresh strawberries and whipped cream, hash brown potatoes which I think we agreed were the best we've EVER had, bacon, orange juice. YUM!

Off for pedi's and mani's and a fun day of shopping........

Saturday market fresh fruit crepes, we tasted some good Thai food and that was a first for me and something I will be getting again for sure.

Why we didn't purchase these I don't know??????
So less than 12 hours in a hotel requires a LOT of luggage apparently because we managed to fill this whole thing up and then some.......wow!
Whitney got us reservations at the down town Marriott. We had valet parking and felt very glamorous checking in. ;) (Self timer shots were not working out so great for me this trip and most of my pictures were blurry so I was bummed.)
Whitney had goody bags for us and fun things to decorate the room to make things extra special.

A toast to Jen..."happy birthday!"

Getting "girlied" up for dinner. :)
We went to Portland City Grill for dinner which is in a down town high rise on the 30th floor. Paul used to be a chef there so he knew some people and made a few phone calls and got us this fabulous table with this view: (once again feeling glamorous)

They brought us out some calamari......holy crap! I have never been a fan but this was good enough to make anyone convert......crispy, sweet, salty, spicy, SO GOOD!!!!!

I probably could post just about food and leave us out of it it was that good! This was my dinner of short ribs with soy glaze, blue cheese mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus........my mouth is watering just thinking about it. :)

Beautiful birthday girl!

and then we have dessert.....see what I mean?????

We made ourselves suck in for one picture after dinner. ;)
Yes she is that cool that she wears her camera on her hip........all that was missing was her fanny pack! ;)

Because dinner was just not enough for us we made our way down to Voo Doo doughnuts for a late night snack. We had something totally inappropriate in mind when going but they were fresh out.....sorry Jen. ;)

Our personal chef/chauffeur took a little time off to come to breakfast with us. A place called Marco's and yet again another fabulous place to eat and brag about. (fresh mozzarella and pancetta omelet.....ooh la la)

full and happy yet again!

Sunday we headed over to Silverton to BBQ at Wendy's with her sweet family (more food....hmmm, i'm seeing a theme). It was perfect timing because we were starting to miss our own munchkins so getting to play and love on these girls was fun. :)
How could you resist this:
and those curls......
she's another edible baby we've added to this family!
Wonderful Miley who is just sweet as can be and so lovable, it is sad to say good bye. :(
They made Aunt Jen a yummy birthday cake.
"Love you girls, it was so fun to see you, thanks for letting us come play!"
The weekend also came with it a movie, some late night card games, shopping for some fun (and practical) things, did I mention food?, and LOTS OF LAUGHING!!!! Much needed laughing and a much needed break for all of us for sure! Is it too early to start planning next years????? Love you ladies, thanks for a great weekend and all the fun memories!!!!!
