We finally got to go camping this summer!! It's been so long and we were so excited to get back in the hills. We found a spot on the Pend Oreille River near Cusick and besides mosquitos eating us alive it was a gorgeous spot and perfect for taking the kids.
We went with our neighbors Brian and Ashley and their 3 kids. Our spots were sort of combined to make one so it worked out perfectly. We even had a bald eagle in the tree right across from our campsite just hanging out the whole day.
We were right up from the bank of the river which was a perfect spot for the kids to play and swim. Brian and Ashley brought their boat too which was super fun.

The kids played the days away and were so GOOD! I realize why I love camping so much and it's because we are forced to do nothing but spend time together. Sad that it's so rare these days when we are together all the time but with all the distractions of home or even on vacation we don't get a lot of quality time. The kids soak up our undivided attention too and their behavior's definitely proof.
This little girl is the best baby ever and was such a trooper. She slept and napped amazing! She was happy the whole time and loved being outside.

These two are just the best little friends who also fight like siblings but for the most part get along so well and are so fun to listen to.
After we packed up we drove around the area for a while, Justin said there is some family history up and around those parts. Cusick is pretty run down now but the area is beautiful and the drive along the river is so worth it. We are already counting the days until it's warm enough to plan another trip. We will have to make it more than one next summer for sure. ;)
