I'll start with Mother's Day and hopefully get caught up before we have more holidays, disasters, or birthdays to (not) record. I had a wonderful Mother's Day with my family we headed down to the tulip festival (minus any tulips left) and had lunch. The kids got me some much needed new slippers and all sorts of home made goodies to show their love it was very sweet.
Next was little man's big 3 year birthday bash! He woke up to this:
A sad little display of things but because his drum set was really all we did and he didn't get that until later it seemed very small. :(
The girls made him some very cute cards and pictures.
And were very excited to show him everything. :)
Took him a while to get into it.
He was SUPER excited for this though!
He wanted a Backyardigan's cake and I looked everywhere for stuff and found nothing so he just had to go with one of them and we made do. Turned out pretty cute though.
Or it could just be he's so darn cute the cake doesn't matter??? ;)
Learned how to do the big "3".
So his request for birthday dinner was MacDonald's.....yes we are bringing our children up right. Really though it's all about the toy and the play thing so the foods not really his concern.
Then it was home for presents and cake with the Stoddard family joining us so it didn't feel so sad with the 5 of us. :(
Gracie got him a fishing pole, Haylee bought him his own recorder (Kristen we are feeling the recorder love this year too with Grace) since he can't use Grace's 'actual' one like there is such a thing but needless to say that both the new musical instruments in the house have made quite an impression on neighbors.....visitors always welcome. ;)
Sea to Ski race was the next weekend and we took the kids to a couple of the events like the parade, the canoe race and the sea kayaking out in the bay. It's such a HUGE deal and fun to be around all the festivities. Anyone interested in getting a team together you have a place to stay.........
Hours of fun.......
Looks SO hard the wind was blowing really hard and they go against current. UGH!
So there it is.....not too exciting really but at least it's DONE!

Hmmm...not only one recorder player but two at your house. DE-LIGHTFUL. How's about a little family recorder band this summer? Does Grace know Hot Cross Buns? Bring them to the lake!! I'm sure Granny would love a live performance!!
