We got a random phone call from our pastor about taking an RV down to Phoenix and asking if we wanted to go. We were thinking there was no way but we made a few phone calls and Bonnie came up to stay with the kids and we were on our way. It happened so fast I still can't believe we actually did it. There was 11 of us total in this RV so it was a little packed but definitely the way to travel. I can't believe we don't already have our own after that. It was so nice to sleep, play games, watch movies, fix food, and just all sit and visit without being strapped to a seat. We left about 6 pm and drove straight through. There were 3 drivers (not me thankfully) that switched off and the roads and weather were great!
Since I don't require a lot of sleep nor do I sleep well in weird places my job was in the passenger seat most of the time keeping the driver alert and happy. You learn a lot about people in the wee hours of the morning when you're tired. ;)
We made it safely and just relaxed in the house the first night. We had the same guy that loaned us the RV let us use his house too. Super nice house with everything we needed and plenty of space. It worked out great!
Day 1 was Super bowl central....literally. It's where the whole downtown Phoenix was completely transformed into football mania. There were so many Seahawks fans it was so fun to see the sea of green and blue everywhere you looked.
Super bowl Sunday was fun and relaxing. We did some outlet mall shopping and hit the store for some game day goodies. It was sunny and beautiful that day so we opted to watch the game from the house where we could BBQ and sit in the sun without all the crazy crowds.
I could definitely winter here. :)

We lost the game and that was awful but the trip was well worth it. A few more days to travel easier and maybe another day of sun would have been perfect.
We stopped at Hoover Dam on the way home and took a little tour around, that was pretty cool.
